I, Brian Droitcour, personally believe that most people who look at art do not really understand it and therefore I have taken it upon myself to explain the art to them.
Art is probably invisible until I explain it to the audience.
Sometimes I can not be bothered to spend more than about 5 seconds to understand the art or talk to artist but this is more than enough time for me to present the art to billions of people in the New York City which is five times bigger than whichever city which is five times smaller than New York City.
Also I suspect artists do not really understand their art works so I am obviously helping them as well.
Overall, I personally believe, that art does not exist without me. I am a catalyst, I make it all happen, without me art is invisible. I personally believe this.
I am like an electric plug. Electricity will just be in the walls and house appliances would just be dead without me. House appliances need to plug in to me and I give them electricity. House appliances is the public and electricity is art… or vice versa.
I personally believe that without art journalists, and also me, I am an art journalist, art has no meaning and no one understands it.
If you need me to explain your art to you please send me a photocopy of your passport and a photo of your art work (if it is an online artwork still send a photo).
If you wish to express your thanks to my amazing ability to explain these things to everybody in the world please build a small shrine in your neighbourhood.
