petra cortright

petra cortright’s performance piece called mononucleosis is currently being executed in berlin, germany.

cortright is an californian artist who, due to lack of instutional support from her native santa barbara, was forced to move to berlin and produce this 4 weeks mononucleosis performance.

petra has allowed infectious viruses to reside in her body after which she will attempt to kill the same viruses with human produced chemicals.

her mononucleosis piece investigates the relationship between the society and individual which is particularly inspiring in berlin, germany, after the fall of the berlin wall.

i am not sure if berlin is bigger than new york.

petra cortright cold landscape

Petra Cortright is California based nanny, telemarketer, chauffeur, soccer camp director and gourmet cooking supply store and an office supply store employee who recently got interested in making websites which investigate art.

Petra Cortright’s Cold Landscape piece is a website which looks like a photo of a mountain in spring.

This is Petra’s first attempt in investigations of mountains online and this also might be a revolutionary attempt in the realm of digital and interactive art.

Minimal interaction is allowed through browser scroll bar and address bar – users can type in any other web address and click GO and they will leave Petra’s Cold Landscape.

Petra replied to my emails within 24 hours which is typical of Californian women with no real career.
